Capture of airborne microparticles by an ultra fine electrospray

We present a simple model to calculate the charging of conducting inertialess airborne microparticles by an ultrafine electrospray. The kinetics of this process are coupled with the continuity equations for all the particle types and the electrospray, the Navier-Stokes equations for the gas and the Poisson equation for the electric field. The model is applied in an axisymmetric configuration to filter out and collect airborne particles in a laminar gas stream.
