SFMC23

Spanish Fluid Mechanics Conference

Barcelona, Spain | 02 - 05 July 2023

Welcome to the 2nd Spanish Fluid Mechanics Conference, that will be held in Barcelona, hosted by UPC, from July 2nd to July 5th, 2023.

This is the second of a series of biennial conferences aiming to cover all fields of fluid mechanics at a national level. However, this second edition takes place exceptionally one year after the first edition, in order to avoid overlaps with other main international fluid mechanics conferences. The conference is open to students, postdoctoral researchers, faculty, as well as researchers working in national laboratories, research centers and industry. Researchers working at institutions outside Spain are also welcomed. The program features plenary talks, oral presentations, as well as poster presentations. We hope this event to become an ideal forum to exchange ideas, to discuss scientific advances and to promote research cooperation in the field.

We invite presentations on topics including – but not limited to – the following

  • Hydrodynamic instabilities
  • Centrifugal, Thermal and Shear flows
  • Computational Fluid Mechanics
  • Compressible and Incompressible Flows
  • Turbulent flows
  • Non-Newtonian flows
  • Electro and magneto hydrodynamics
  • Fluid-structure interaction
  • Machine Learning
  • Drops and Bubbles
  • Aerosols and Suspensions
  • Micro and Nano fluidics
  • Active matter
  • Thin Films and Coating Flows
  • Control and Drag Reduction
  • Convection and Gravity-driven Flows

Our goal is to cover all the fundamental aspects of fluid mechanics from a theoretical, computational and experimental point of view as well as its applications to other fields:

Chemical, Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering Meteorology, Oceanography, Geology and Astrophysics Biology and Medicine Acoustics and combustion Batteries, Fuel cells and other industrial applications

We very much look forward to seeing you in Barcelona next year!
